The World’s Greatest Stretch

-August 29th, 2019-

Here is a stretch that I do with every lacrosse player I train before every single workout, practice, or game.

It’s called Elbow to Instep with Rotation, and we get a lot of “bang for your buck” with this one.

With this stretch, that takes 30-45 seconds to complete, we get a stretch through the back leg hip flexor, the adductors and even some hamstring, we get a stretch in the glutes, and we get to work thoracic spine mobility.

Like I said, lots of  “bang” in a short period of time.

Start by stepping into a big lunge, keeping your back leg straight.

Reach to touch your elbow to the instep of your foot, again keeping the back leg straight the entire time.

Then rotate towards the leg out front, keeping that front foot flat and not letting the knee rotate out.

Perform dynamically 5-6 times each side.

Add this simple stretch before every workout, lacrosse practice or game and be more resilient to injury and feel much less tight, especially in your hips.
