U.S. Lacrosse recently created a post on the Truth About Stretching.
It’s very basic info so I’ll summarize it.
- Dynamic Stretch before a workout
- Static Stretch after a workout (although it’s also good before a workout as long as you dynamic stretch after)
- Stretching isn’t going to stop you from getting hurt if you lift poorly.
- Stretching isn’t going to prevent you from getting sore (although it will activate the parasympathetic nervous system to improve recovery)
- Stretching helps maintain flexibility.
So there you have it. The Truth About Stretching.
