Skater Squats and Single Leg Strength for Lacrosse

-March 4th, 2021-

Just a quick video of our training today with some of the Toronto Rock lacrosse players.

Single leg strength is key as a lacrosse player. If you can Back Squat 500lbs but can’t do 1 Single Leg Squat, you aren’t strong and functional. You may be strong, but that doesn’t mean athletic.

These players are adding as much as 70lbs to their bodyweight in this video.

This exercise is hard enough without weight (try it!). The back foot can never touch the ground, this is far more challenging than a reverse lunge.

Take a look, then give it a try yourself. This exercise (Skater Squat) should be in everyone’s program!
