Last month I found an article on how Lyle Thompson strength trains for lacrosse. I’m always interested in these as sometimes they are awful and sometimes they are great.
This falls in the GREAT category.
Key points:
- Mobility, Stability, and Strength-(I might steal these for a t-shirt, it sums up a great program in 3 words)
- “My favorite lift is honestly just a weighted or non-weighted pull-up. I think it’s the great equalizer.”
- “I started to strength train because I wanted to take my game to the next level“
- “After experimenting with numerous styles of training I found that the most important part of training for a professional athlete is having balance.”-(again, back to Mobility, Stability, and Strength)
It’s so refreshing to hear of an athlete that says he didn’t initially love the weight room (not everyone does) realize that it is what was needed to take his game to the next level.
I recommend reading the entire article HERE
