The Truth About Stretching (according to US Lacrosse)

-September 20th, 2017-

U.S. Lacrosse recently created a post on the Truth About Stretching.

It’s very basic info so I’ll summarize it.

  1. Dynamic Stretch before a workout
  2. Static Stretch after a workout (although it’s also good before a workout as long as you dynamic stretch after)
  3. Stretching isn’t going to stop you from getting hurt if you lift poorly.
  4. Stretching isn’t going to prevent you from getting sore (although it will activate the parasympathetic nervous system to improve recovery)
  5. Stretching helps maintain flexibility.

So there you have it. The Truth About Stretching.

Or read The Warmup is the Workout.
